GARNISH

    •    4 cups whipping cream

    •    1/4 cup granulated sugar

    •    1 teaspoon vanillin

    •    2 sliced bananas

    •    3/4 cup chopped pecans


Using an electric hand mixer, whip the heavy cream to stiff peaks along with sugar and vanillin. In a large trifle dish, layer the pieces of ciambella, sliced bananas, caramel and whipping cream until all ingredients have been used up. Make sure to finish with a top layer of cream and caramel. Garnish with chopped pecans and allow to chill before serving.

PREPARE 1 CIAMBELLA & CUT INTO CUBES

    •    1 cup water

    •    2 cups granulated sugar

    •    2 cups whipping cream

    •    1/2 cup butter

    •    1 teaspoon vanillin* 

    •    Sea salt to taste

* Can be substituted with vanilla extract

Add 1 cup of water to a saucepot followed by 2 cups of sugar. Turn the heat up to high and, without stirring, allow for the sugar and water to come to a boil. At this point, turn the heat down to medium and continue to cook the syrup until golden.Gradually whisk whipping cream and butter into the caramel base. Once all of the cream has been added to the pot, finish with vanillin, salt and allow to thicken.
